Sterilization by touch or how to work during a blackout?

Constant blackouts are no reason to stop work! We tell you how to ensure continuous sterilization of instruments even during a blackout.

Important to know:

  • the dry sterilizer consumes an average of 0.5-0.7 kW per hour, depending on the model;
  • a complete sterilization cycle lasts from 30 to 150 minutes depending on the selected temperature mode;
  • interrupting the sterilization cycle, in most cases, invalidates it.

Our recommendations for a smooth operation:

  1. Purchase a charging station or fuel generator with the appropriate capacity (we recommend selecting from 2 kWh).
  2. Install an uninterruptible power supply to protect against sudden power surges.
  3. Plan your sterilization schedule around your blackout schedule.
  4. Keep a supply of sterile instruments in case of an extended blackout.

But what to do if the light disappeared during sterilization? It’s simple:

  • If the sterilization process is interrupted and the indicators do not change color, it indicates that the sterilization is not successful, so it is necessary to restart the sterilization process after the power supply is restored. It is important that the instruments undergo a complete sterilization cycle at the correct temperature and time. It is not necessary to replace the kraft bags with new ones.
  • If the power failure occurred during the cooling phase of the dryer and the indicators on the kraft bags have changed color to their characteristic color after sterilization (see instructions) – do not worry, you do not need to restart the sterilization process.

💡 Pro tip: Use additional sterilization indicators for each cycle. This will help to ensure that the process is successful even if there is a power failure.

And remember, your safety and the safety of your customers is paramount! Don’t neglect sterilization even in today’s challenging environment.
