Sterility of instruments is one of the key safety factors in the beauty and medical industries. The MicroSTOP dry heat is a device that provides sterilisation of instruments with hot air and destroys microorganisms and their spores. It is important to understand the benefits of the dryer and why it is so necessary in the work of professionals. We will talk about it further.
What is a Dryfreezer and how it helps in your work
Sterilisation is the basis of safety in the beauty and medical fields, where the sterility of instruments directly affects the health of clients and patients. Instruments that are reused must be thoroughly sterilised to eliminate all risks associated with the transmission of infections and bacteria.
The dry oven is one of the most reliable sterilisation methods and ensures that all microorganisms and their spores are destroyed by high temperatures. Thanks to the circulation of dry hot air, the process guarantees complete sterility of the instruments.
The MicroSTOP high-temperature dry cabinet sterilises reusable instruments with hot air and is essential in the work of specialists in medical institutions, beauty salons, studios and private offices of nail technicians, eyebrow artists, cosmetologists, tattoo and piercing masters.
What is the purpose of a dry fire?
As we already know, the dryer is an indispensable aid in areas where sterility of instruments plays a key role. In the beauty and medical industry, many procedures are performed with reusable instruments: manicure and pedicure instruments, tweezers, surgical and dental instruments.
The dry heat cabinet keeps clients and patients safe by destroying bacteria, viruses, fungi that can be transmitted through unsterile instruments.
Here are the main areas where the dry heat is used :
- beauty (manicure, pedicure, podology, dermatology and cosmetology, hair removal);
- tattoo studios and piercing salons;
- medicine (clinics, hospitals, dental offices, veterinary medicine).
Manufactured in Ukraine, the MicroSTOP sterilizer will satisfy customers’ need for safe service in beauty and medical facilities.
How does the MicroSTOP dry kiln work and why should I use it?
Place the dryer on a flat horizontal surface and ensure a distance of at least 30 cm from the top and 10 cm from the back and sides of the steriliser for sufficient air circulation and cooling of the enclosure surface.
The steriliser consists of the following functional units: housing and doors. Inside the casing there is a sterilisation chamber made of high quality stainless steel. The space formed by the housing and the sterilisation chamber, as well as the doors, are filled with basalt fibre insulation.
Under the sterilisation chamber there is a heating element, temperature sensor and thermal fuse.
A special removable tray/trays are installed in the chamber for placing the sterilisation items.
The operation of the dry oven is based on a simple but extremely effective sterilisation process using dry hot air. Since the dry heat is a device that ensures sterility of instruments and destruction of microorganisms, it is necessary to familiarize yourself with the important stages of its operation.
The order of operation of the dry heater consists of the following key stages:
- Start of operation. It is necessary to plug the steriliser into the mains and press the button on the back side.
- Placement of instruments. For maximum sterilisation efficiency, it is necessary to place the removable tray(s) with instruments/kraft bags into the sterilisation chamber. It is recommended to use kraft bags for sterilisation with indicators that show whether the instruments have been fully sterilised. Kraft bags can be placed horizontally and vertically.
- Heating and sterilisation. Select the mode and temperature for processing the instruments.
The device works in three modes and supports sterilisation standards of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. For the convenience of masters added mode ‘drying’.
200 °C – 30 min,
180 °C – 60 min,
160 °C – 150 min,
Drying mode: 80 ° C – 30 min.
The drying cabinet is heated from 160°C to 200°C, which is the optimum temperature range for killing all harmful organisms and their spores under the influence of dry hot air. This temperature is maintained throughout the sterilisation process, ensuring uniform exposure of all instruments inside the chamber.
The countdown in any of the sterilisation modes will only start once the steriliser has heated up to the set temperature.
- End of sterilisation and cooling. After the set time has elapsed, the dryer will switch off automatically with an audible signal. You can then open the lid, wait for complete cooling and remove the kraft bags or instruments. The instruments are now sterile and ready for use as soon as they are removed from the cabinet.
Thanks to this clearly structured process, the drying cabinet not only provides sterility, but also helps to preserve the properties of the instruments, which is especially important if they are used repeatedly and frequently.
However, it is worth remembering that dry heat is not suitable for processing products made of plastic, rubber, and other materials that cannot be exposed to high temperatures, as they can be deformed.
Advantages of using an instrument dry heat
In dry cabinets, sterilisation takes place under the influence of dry air flows heated to a temperature of 200°C, which means that only instruments made of heat-resistant materials can be sterilised:
- stainless steel instruments for manicure, cosmetology, podiatry;
- metal cutters for apparatus manicure;
- ceramic cutters for apparatus manicure (if authorised by the cutter manufacturer!);
- metal saw bases for replacement abrasives (without abrasives).
- items made of heat-resistant glass for beauty professionals;
- steel tips and needle holders for tattoo machines;
A very important nuance is the placement of the instruments. Instruments can be sterilised in the dry heater with or without kraft bags. Both methods are equally effective.
According to Ukrainian legislation, the recommended time for sterilisation of instruments without kraft bags is:
- 200°C – 30 min.
- 180°C – 60 min.
- 160°C – 150 min.
in kraft bags:
- 180°C – 60 min.
The instruments are loaded vertically or horizontally, depending on the model of the dryer. Almost all M-series dry heaters are loaded vertically, while in GP-series dry heaters the instruments or kraft bags are placed horizontally on the shelves.
The high temperature of the dry air during operation of the dryer does not cause corrosion, prolonging the life of the instruments, effectively penetrating deep and ensuring complete sterility.
After use, at intervals of 150 hours, it is recommended to disinfect the sterilisation tray(s), the accessible internal parts of the sterilisation chamber and the dryer lid.
This is why a dry oven is a convenient and reliable way to maintain a high level of sterility that combines ease of use, durability and safety.
